A great days birdwatching with over 60 species seen and many more heard along Pipeline Road. Todays highlights included some great views of Bay Wren, Yellow-backed Oriole, Violet-crowned Woodnymph and Blue-crowned Manakin. The pick of the bunch though was a Semiplumbeous Hawk perched high above the trail. This small, scarce raptor species hunt from their perches, awaiting snakes and lizards to break cover before swooping down to catch them.
